The Aspect Of My Life

Go Pet Friendly

For those of you that have been following my blog for awhile, you know that I have had my questions regarding my willingness to commit to a dog in my life.  Years ago I had Patty the dachshund for an overnight stay and another time I had Rosebud for 25 hours before sending her back.  Neither dog seemed exactly right or the timing wasn't right or something just wasn't right.  I loved having Ralph for a few nights but I was equally happy to have him go back home.  So look who showed up as my neighbor for the last several days: http://www.gopetfriendly.com/

They have been great neighbors and conversations with Amy have answered a myriad of questions and been gently encouraging regarding dog ownership.   She even thinks she might take a picture of me to post on facebook and ask all her followers which dog breed might suit me best.

So even though  I recently killed my air plant,  I am still thinking maybe the time is right to reconsider a dog.

  1. Thanks for their site. I looked it up & plan to cruise through it more later. Good luck with your decision on a pupper dog! They can be great companions, but yes, require care. But then, they also care back :-)

    1. I know! Just need to fall in love with one:). Be sure to check out their use of a zip line for their dogs. I had never seen anything like that and it works so well for humans and dogs.

  2. I don't think I'd enjoy this lifestyle without a canine companion. My Katie is the perfect size (about 12 pounds), easy to walk and feed and pick up after, and her vet bills are a once a year check up and shots. I hope you end up with the perfect pet, but I agree, it has to be a good match. :)

    1. Thanks for the encouragement. I need a dog that is really low maintenance and perfect like Katie:).

  3. I love traveling with my little Shih Tzus. It would be really lonely for me without them. Good luck to you in finding just the right pet.

  4. What a coincidence...we just met GoPetFreindly in T or C a few days ago! Good folks, doing a great service for those who want to travel with their pets.

We travel with our cat and worry that a dog would limit the places we could explore too much. Cats are easy! :-)

  5. LOL! It looks like we may have nudged you along. Yes, finding a good match really is the answer. Even though having our boys sometimes means we can't do some of the things we'd like, or that we have to go out for walks in the rain, I wouldn't trade them for anything. And traveling without them just wouldn't be the same.

We never did take your picture - do you have one in front of your rig? Shoot it over to me and we'll post it on the FB page. It will be fun!

  6. What Amy said!!!

Something you should also keep in mind when it comes to dogs. Sometimes they pick you! Bridgette picked me over eight years ago and as difficult as things sometimes were, I do not regret it in the slightest bit. My little girl has made me a better person and my life that much better.
